Control an electric gate

Description

Here's how to wire, install and program the control of an electric gate with the Wattcubes. When the distance is important and the 230V power supply is present at the gate and at the switch, the use of Wattcube is suitable.

The maximum range can vary, it can reach 3km in ideal conditions. To have the best possible range, it is preferable to have the Wattcubes on the same power line without having any differential or circuit breaker between the Wattcubes. See our article on maximum range

Installation

    1. Connect a phase and the Wattcube Push (purple cable) input to the push button portal
    2. Connect one output from the Wattcube Open (Black cable) to the power board of the portal . Generally the gate control electronic cards accept a low voltage contact 12V or 24V

Alternative

If the voltage at the switch is low voltage 12V or 24V, use the Wattcube PushDinDC . It has a 10-30VDC input. It is equivalent to the Wattcube Push at the operation level. It is in DIN rail 35mm

Programming with kit Wattcube Gate

The Wattcube Gate kit contains a Wattcube Push and a pre-programmed Wattcube Open. The wattcube push is in the "Always On" mode and the Wattcube Open has a timeout of 1s

  1. After connecting everything, pass the badge over the Wattcube Push
  2. Pass the badge over the Wattcube Open
  3. Pass the badge over the Wattcube Push
  4. When the Wattcube Push is pressed, the output of the Wattcube Open switches and turns off after 1s
  5. Connect the output of the Wattcube Open to the electronic board of the portal. The portal must open as soon as the Wattcube Push is pressed.

Programming with the Wattcube Web

  1. After connecting all, pass the badge over the Wattcube Push (or Wattcube PushDin or Wattcube PushDinDC)
  2. Pass to the badge over the Wattcube Open (or Wattcube OpenDin)
  3. Pass again the badge over the Wattcube Push
  4. Connect to the Wattcube Web via the Smartphone or PC application, both modules must appear in the "Home" group.
  5. Open the Wattcube Push and set the Wattcube Push to "Always ON."
  6. With the Wattcube Web, set a turn-off delay on the Wattcube Open from 1 to 3s to generate a pulse on the portal entry.
  7. When the Wattcube Push is pressed, the output of the Wattcube Open switches and extinguishes after the programmed delay.
  8. Connect the output of the Wattcube Open to the electronic board of the portal. The portal must open as soon as the Wattcube Push is pressed.

And if we also connected the bell button?

We will add a Wattcube Push at the portal directly connected to a waterproof push button or integrated directly into the push button. The Wattcube Push will be connected to the 230V. On the other side we can have a Wattcube Open to control a low-voltage bell. It will therefore require two kit Wattcube Gate.
